What should I wear to my Portrait Session?

At Studio One, we feel that your portraits should reflect your personality. For that reason, we have only a few suggestions that will greatly help the effectiveness of your prints. Stay away from busy patterns and stripes. These take the focus away from what really matters. Also, avoid overly loud colors as they have the same effect. Other than that, be yourself. That's what we want your prints to project.

Do you charge a retouching fee for a Portrait Session?

Minor removal of blemishes and other transient features is included in your reprint price. These adjustments are made once your order has been placed. We only retouch the images that are ordered to keep the price of our services down. There may be an additional charge for major retouching and any "surgery" that may be requested. Always feel free to ask!

When Do I pay my session Fee?

Your session fee is due at the time of booking your session. We will gather all pertinant information at this time. This allows you the freedom for show up on the date of your session and shoot without having to worry about money of any paperwork. This will allow you to get the most out of your Studio One experience.

Do I have to order the same pose for every print in a package?

NO! Far too many photo studios push you around when it comes to ordering. We want to be the good guys in this case. Feel free to mix and match your prints within a package. The only exceptions being that wallets must be ordered in sheets of 8 and 4x5's in sheets of 4. Feel free to contact us with any questions regarding packages and options.

I am a High School Senior, when do I get my proofs?

Your proofs will be available for pick-up one week after your session. There is a $250 deposit due at the time of check out that will apply to your final package purchase. These proofs are checked out for 2 weeks and must be returned to the studio to apply your deposit to your reprint order. A parent must be present at time of proof pick-up to sign a proof release.

Can I purchase my Senior proofs?

Your Senior proofs are available for purchase a the time of your final order. The final price of your proofs will vary depending on the package you chose. They are free with our Premier Package! Please see the pricing page on our website for package details.

Is there a charge for wearing more than one outfit?

At Studio One, our time if far more valuable than semantics. You are free to wear as many outfits as needed at no additional charge barring that you do not run over your scheduled session time. We are a busy studio, and being overly ambitious with your outfits can run us into another client's session. We have plenty of private space for changing as well.

Is there a charge for changing a background?

Just like outfit changes, there is no charge for using multiple backgrounds. Basically, if we can fit it into your allotted session time, there is no additional charge for this service.

Do you shoot on Sundays?

The studio is closed on Sundays and Mondays, however, we do shoot by appointment on those days depending upon availability. There is an additional charge for this. Please contact the studio for details about our off-day shooting policy.

When can I expect my prints?

In most cases, your prints will arrive at the studio in 2-3 weeks. Over-sized prints and custom orders may require additional time and usually arrive in 3-4 weeks. We know that you cherish your prints and can't wait to have them. For that reason, we try to get them to you in a timely fashion.

Why do you shoot with digital cameras?

Digital technology has allowed us to radically streamline our shooting process. We are now able to show sideshows of our sessions directly after they are photographed. We are also able to do retouching and editing in a much more efficient manner. This allows us to keep our prices down and get you your prints faster. In addition, we are able to make corrections in our posing and lighting on the spot. This insures that your session will be as smooth and effective as possible.

What can I expect from my session?

At Studio One, we try to have fun and bring out the best side of your personality. We are not big on using props to hide you! We like your photographs to show a side of you that perhaps has never been captured. Our studio is set up in a comfortable and accessible manner. Our hope is that this will take the edge off the portrait experience. Our shooting room is complete with leather recliners and surround sound. We want you to be comfortable. How do I get the most out of my portrait session?

Photography is a very person endeavor. We recommend scheduling a consultation to meet your photographer and get to know the studio a little better before your session. We also recommend that you don't check your personality at the door. In getting to know us better, we can create a relationship with your photographer that will show in every image.

When do I pay for my prints?

Payment for your prints is due at the time of ordering. High School Seniors are required to pay half at the time of order and half at pick-up. We accept Visa, Master Card, Personal checks, or cash. There is a 3% tax added to each order. We are currently offering a 20% discount for all orders placed within 21 days of your session.
